Inside a garment factory
We spent a full day on the floor of one of the garment factories we work with in Foshan, southern China, with real orders in production: patterns, cutting machines, the sewing floor, their showroom, hand checks and the truck at the dock.

Arrival on the floor
This is one of the garment factories we work with in Foshan, in southern China. We spent the day on the floor. No showroom tour. Real orders, in production, the day we walked in. Hundreds of pieces move through this room every day. Cut, sewn, pressed, hung and packed, all under one roof.
Patterns and cutting
Every order starts flat. Paper patterns on top, dozens of layers of fabric underneath, ready for the cut. Templates guide the cutting machines, so every piece comes out exactly the same.
The sewing floor
Then the sewing floor takes over. Each station does one seam, again and again, all day. That repetition is what keeps the quality consistent. The room runs like a relay. A garment crosses ten pairs of hands before it leaves, and every pair has done that exact job for years.
Counted and tracked
Orders on screens, batches on rails. Everything counted, everything tracked. Up close, you see it. Clean seams, even stitching, fabric that holds.
The showroom
This is their showroom. Knitwear, shirts, jackets, kidswear. A different collection every season. Some of what they make is for brands you already know. We can't tell you which ones, and honestly, that's how it should be.
Checked, bagged, boxed
Before anything ships, every single piece goes through hands one more time. Then it's bagged, boxed, and on a truck the same day. This is the part of the supply chain most brands never see.
